New San Leandro, Calif. Facility Expands the Company's Core Technology and Production Capacity While Increasing Manufacturing and Operations Efficiency

(NASDAQ:ERII), a leader in the design and development of energy recovery devices for desalination, today announced the relocation of its corporate headquarters and manufacturing operations to a nearby facility that will include new, state-of-the-art ceramics research and production capabilities. Incorporating on-site ceramics manufacturing enables Energy Recovery, Inc. (ERI) to maintain its competitive advantage by enhancing its ability to develop next-generation products. The expansion also allows for an increase in production capacity as global demand for the company's PX Pressure ExchangerTM technology continues to grow.

ERI's newly expanded headquarters combines the company's business operations and manufacturing into a single, 165,000 square-foot facility in San Leandro, Calif. By integrating a full-scale, state-of-the-art ceramics production process, ERI strengthens its oversight on its intellectual property, improves its supply costs and enhances the efficiency of its manufacturing and operations activities. To grow its ceramics expertise, ERI has hired Timothy Dyer, a seasoned ceramist and inventor who holds more than 30 U.S. patents and has authored numerous technical publications about related technical subjects.
