Cadagua, S.A. Selects Energy Recovery Inc for Desalination Plant in the United Arab Emirates
Best-in-Class PX Energy Recovery Devices to Offer Maximum Availability
SAN LEANDRO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Energy Recovery Inc (NASDAQ:ERII), a leader in the design and development of energy recovery devices for desalination and other industrial processes, today announced that the company’s industry-leading PX Pressure Exchanger™ (PX™) devices have been selected by the consortium formed by Spanish water treatment company Cadagua, S.A. and UAE civil contractor ESSA Engineering & Marine Services LLC for a large-scale seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) project in the Emirate of Ajman. The project, which was contracted by the Federal Electricity and Water Authority (FEWA) is designed for maximum availability by virtually eliminating costly unplanned downtime.
The market-leading ERI PX devices were selected by Cadagua based on FEWA’s approval and ERI’s proven ability to provide high availability operations for reliable water production by using best-in-class technologies. FEWA uses PX devices for some of its SWRO projects, benefiting from the unmatched performance, efficiency and durability of ERI’s technology. The Al Zawrah project alone will provide about 45,000 cubic meters per day, or 10 million imperial gallons per day of clean drinking water.
“Cadagua has long known of ERI’s reputation for offering leading energy recovery devices, and we are looking forward to utilizing the PX technology to assist us in providing clean, affordable water to the people of the Emirate of Ajman,” said Antonio Casado, managing director, Cadagua. “Our selection was based in large part on FEWA’s satisfaction with the ERI technology. We want to ensure that our plant operations do not experience unscheduled and expensive breakdowns from maintenance shut downs, and ERI is the company that can guarantee high efficiencies and maximum availability of plant operations.”
